NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS REGARDING
AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY’S FUTURE LAND USE MAP AND ZONING MAP
The City Commission of the City of Macclenny, Florida shall consider Ordinance No. 24-07, “A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PROPERTY AS DESCRIBED (PARCEL 32-2S-22-0049-0077-0040) FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (LDR) TO COMMERCIAL, LOW INTENSITY (CLI) ON THE 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FUTURE LAND USE MAP; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE” and Ordinance No. 24-08, “A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE REZONING THE PROPERTY AS DESCRIBED (PARCEL 32-2S-22-0049-0077-0040) FROM RESIDENTIAL SINGLE FAMILY (RS-1) TO RESIDENTIAL, PROFESSIONAL OFFICE (RPO) ON THE CITY OF MACCLENNY OFFICIAL ZONING MAP; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.” The Subject Property consists of approximately 0.24 acres located along the east side of S. Fifth Street and north side of South Boulevard East (see map below).
SYNOPSIS: The Ordinances involve an application for voluntary amendment and rezoning of approximately 0.24 acres located along the east side of S. Fifth Street and north of South Boulevard East. The Subject Property’s Future Land Use Map (“FLUM”) and Zoning Map designations shall be changed from Low Density Residential to Commercial Low Intensity on the City’s FLUM and from Residential, Single Family to Residential, Professional Office on the City’s Zoning Map. Ordinance No. 24-07 will cause the Subject Property to be classified Commercial Low Intensity (CLI) on the City’s Future Land Use Map 2040 and Ordinance 24-08 will cause the Subject Property to be classified Residential, Professional Office (RPO) on the City’s Zoning Map.
FIRST READING: A public hearing on the first reading of the proposed Ordinances will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 118 East Macclenny Avenue, Macclenny, Florida. There shall be no vote by the City Commission regarding this Ordinance at this meeting. The City Commission meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the public hearing will be held shortly after the meeting is called to order. Interested persons may appear at the hearing and be heard regarding the adoption of the proposed amendment.
COMMISSION VOTE: A public hearing requiring City Commission action on the proposed Ordinances will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 118 East Macclenny Avenue, Macclenny, Florida. The City Commission meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the public hearing will be held shortly after the meeting is called to order. Interested persons may appear at the hearing and be heard regarding the adoption of the proposed zoning reinstatement.
