Tom MacPherson picked up his first win as Wildcat head coach September 5 as the team rolled through the hosting Bradford County Tornadoes 43-7.
“It feels good,” coach MacPherson said about his first victory with his new program. “We were just looking for some momentum for the kids. For the most part, I feel like we were solid in all three phases of the game.”
The Cats dominated all aspects of the game en route to the blow out victory to pull to an even 1-1 record. The BCMS Bobcat football team held off a late Lakeside Junior High surge September 3 and escaped with a 12-8 home win in its season opener.
The B-Cats controlled the first three quarters with the help of a dominant defense, and two touchdown runs by quarterback John Green gave the team a 12-0 lead entering the final frame. The defense appeared to have the Gators stuffed on a fourth-down conversion attempt early in the fourth quarter, but an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty gave Lakeside’s offense new life. The JV Wildcat football team came up on the short end of a nail-biter for the second straight week September 4 when it fell 27-19 at Clay.
The team battled through injuries with a strong second half effort to pull within one possession of tying the game. The JV Cats had the ball late with a chance to even the score, but they didn’t have enough time as the clock ran out and they dropped to 0-2 on the year. Read More »
