Strong defense, quick quarterback lead B-cats to win

John-Green-races-away-from-the-defenseThe BCMS Bobcat football team held off a late Lakeside Junior High surge September 3 and escaped with a 12-8 home win in its season opener.
The B-Cats controlled the first three quarters with the help of a dominant defense, and two touchdown runs by quarterback John Green gave the team a 12-0 lead entering the final frame. The defense appeared to have the Gators stuffed on a fourth-down conversion attempt early in the fourth quarter, but an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty gave Lakeside’s offense new life. Conference title for Bobcats!

Baker County Middle School is quickly becoming the School of Champions.
The Bobcat baseball team became the school’s third sports team to hoist a conference championship trophy this school year when they defeated the visiting Madison County 2-1 on April 10.
“I’m super proud of my boys,” head coach Matt Turner said. “To be a second-year program and win a district championship like that shows that Baker County baseball is serious business.” Read More »
