You are required to serve a copy of your written defenses, if any, to the action on the Petitioner’s Attorney whose name and address is HUGH D. FISH, JR., at P.O. Box 531, Macclenny, Florida 32063, on or before November 30, 2013, and file the original with the Clerk of Court, either before service on the petitioner’s attorney or immediately thereafter; otherwise an Order of Temporary Custody of Minor Child will be entered in this case.

A number of defendants were sentenced during relatively light docket sessions in circuit court on November 5 and October 29.
• Jerry Wilkerson pleaded no contest to trafficking in stolen property and a similar charge was dropped before Judge Mark Moseley sentenced him to six months in county jail less time served.
• A similar term was ordered for Winchee Coleman after he admitted to violating probation from two 2011 cases of burglary and criminal mischief. Read More »
By Thanksgiving, county officials should have the latest proposal from Oldcastle Southern Group for its request to mine sand in southeastern Baker County, following a 30-day adjournment of a mediation hearing that had been scheduled in an attempt to resolve an ongoing dispute over the issue and avoid litigation.
So far, the county and Oldcastle remain far apart on any agreement that would permit sand mining for decades. But the mediation process, which was initiated after the county commission denied the company a mining permit in July, has not run its course. Read More »
