Theresa Hardee, onetime resident

Theresa Barbara Crossley Hardee, 72, died on June 16, 2012. She was born on June 2, 1940 in Green Cove Springs and resided at one time in Baker County.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Harold T. Hardee; daughter Debra K. Hardee-Harris (Micheal) of Huntsville, AL; son Harold T. “Hal” Hardee (Luanne) of Madison, AL; grandson Garrett Wade Hardee, also of Madison; brother Carl J. Crossley of Green Cove Springs.

Edward Hickox, retired minister

Edward Matthew Hickox, 85, of Jacksonville died July 5, 2012 at the McGraw Center for Caring, Jacksonville. He was born November 17, 1926 to Sally Harris and Ivan Taylor Hickox Sr. in Homeland, Georgia. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Mr. Hickox was an ordained minister and the pastor of several churches in Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida during the years of his ministry. He was retired from Rayonier Forest Division and was a life member of VFW Post 9560, Folkston, Georgia. He was a current member of Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church in Jacksonville and an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Helen Hart Hickox; daughters Linda (Adrian) Hodges; Gail (Ron) Fowler, Michele (James) Robertson; sons Colan Hickox, Jeffrey (Lindi) Gullatt; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives; special friends Nicholas DeNisco and his family.

Pamela Weber, 59, of Macclenny

Pamela Ada Weber, 59, of Macclenny died April 6, 2012. She was born in Mankato, Minnesota to Ada Burnett Harris and the late Alfred Ray Harris on November 15, 1952. She was predeceased by siblings Peggy Jean Harris, Dennis Ralph Harris and Patsy Marie Flynn.

Survivors include mother Ada Harris; brother Dean Harris; sisters Paula K. Evers, Debra R. Harris and Carol Ann Griego; numerous nieces and nephews.

O’Neil Sharpe, 83, once pastored here

Rev. Jacob O’Neil Sharpe, 83, of Lexington, SC died April 4, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease for over five years. He spent most of his life up to this time in the service of the Lord, pastoring Baptist churches in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, including First Baptist of Macclenny.

He was a loving and caring husband, Daddy, Papa, son, brother and friend. He enjoyed talking about times in years gone by. He loved people, spent many hours praying for everyone who came to mind, and was ready to go for anyone in need. He was predeceased by his parents Haston and Alice Sharpe and sister Mary Sharpe.
