Arrested for burglaries; caught with stolen items in Glen

A county deputy arrested a Glen St. Mary man for theft of property from a vacant residence on Odis Yarborough Rd. between August 9-10.

Owner Kevin Crews reported the burglary on August 10 after noticing four broken windows on two buildings, then finding that fishing tackle worth $300 was taken from a boat in the shed.

Son’s girlfriend arrested for theft of her tax return

A Macclenny woman was arrested August 13 for theft of a tax return earlier this year belonging to her boyfriend’s mother.

Shauna Taylor, 35, admitted under questioning by sheriff’s deputies that she arranged to have a $1487 refund deposited electronically into her Vystar Credit Union account. The money belonged to Katherine Pryde, 71, her neighbor on Lauramore Rd.
