Larry N. Hill Sr., 69, of Baldwin

Larry Noel Hill Sr., 69, of Baldwin died on June 15, 2012 following a brief illness. He was born on July 14, 1942 in Jacksonville to the late Jesse Clayton Hill and the former Jessie Mae Crosby.

Larry was proud to say he was born and raised in Baldwin and always lived within a two-mile radius of his birth. He graduated from Baldwin High School in the Class of ‘61 and was extremely proud of his accomplishments in high school athletics, especially football, holding the Baldwin Indians’ touchdown record. He loved sports and coached Little League baseball and Pop Warner football teams in Baldwin for several years. He announced Baldwin High School football games for many years.

Mr. Hill serve in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a supervisor with Southern Wood Preserving Company before going to work for Seaboard Coastline Railroad, now CSX. He retired from there after 32 years of service and loved hunting and fishing. He was known for his story telling ability and never met a stranger.

Timothy Crawford 52, of Sanderson

Timothy Eugene Crawford, 52, of Sanderson died March 19, 2012 at his residence. He was born on April 7, 1959 to the late James Lee Crawford and Anna Mae Baxter Crawford. He was a resident of Baker County for 16 years after moving from Jacksonville.

Timothy honorably served in the US Army and later was employed as a truck driver. He wrote Gospel music, loved to play his guitar, ride his motorcycle and spend time with his beloved chihuahuas.

Isabelle Marmie, 97, of Macclenny

Isabelle Stafford Marmie, 97, of Macclenny died March 18, 2012. She was born January 24, 1915 and resided in Newark, Ohio until the death of husband Ralph Marmie. She moved to Macclenny and lived with her daughter for 10 years. She was predeceased by daughters Janet and Shirley, and son Bill.

Survivors include daughter Bonnie (Frank) Craig of Macclenny; sons Danny, Jerry, Ralph and Tom Marmie; grandchildren Mike (Diane) Craig of Sanderson, Rod (Sue) Craig of Lake City; Becky Cabrera (Larry) Lord, Tami (Rondle) Lyons, Andy (Merri) Craig, Brad (Connie) Craig; 21 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild.

Edward Murphy of Glen St. Mary

Edward “Ed” D. Murphy, 92, of Glen St. Mary died March 18, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Lake City. He was born in Lyons, GA to the late Charley Murphy and Viana Abbott Murphy on December 18, 1919. He honorably served in the US Army during World War II and in later years was an automotive mechanic.

Mr. Murphy was a resident of Baker County since 1981 when he moved from Jacksonville. He was a single father. His children were first in his life and world. He enjoyed woodworking, yard work, gardening and activities where he could use his hands. He was predeceased by his son Donald Edward Murphy.
