Police arrested three men, two of them under the legal drinking age of 21, at the Macclenny Park late on June 6 for disorderly intoxication and loitering after they were spotted drinking in a shelter near the volleyball courts on North 8th.
Deputy Chad Montean said one of the men, William Foster, 18, of Macclenny, fled on foot as he approached the area about 11:30 pm. He was caught minutes later by Deputy Robert Simpkins on Blair St. east of the park. Mr. Foster had an open bottle of vodka in his pocket.
The other two were identified as Kristopher Legg, 21, of Macclenny and Matthew Russell, 20, of Glen St. Mary.
Deputy Montean noted that a water spigot at the shelter was turned on and had flooded the floor, and a nearby garbage can had been overturned. Also, an empty vodka bottle was lying nearby on a picnic table.
