William Fred Cotter, 68, of Glen St. Mary died on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. He was born on November 5, 1944 in Chattanooga, TN and lived in Jacksonville until he joined the United States Air Force. Following that, he joined the Charleston County Police Dept. where he made detective and began raising a family. He thrived in the great outdoors, traveled often and loved camping with his daughters in the mountains. He enjoyed a good NASCAR race and a great football game.
Mr. Cotter was preceded in death by his parents Fannie Ruth Edwards of Jacksonville and R.L. Cotter of Mustang, OK. He survived by daughters Lisa Anne Curl of Hodgen, OK, Rebecca Sue Foster of Diboll, TX and Elizabeth Marie Cernik of Black River Falls, WI; sisters Wanda Eckersley of Friendswood, TX, Christine Stricklin of Marlow, OK, C.J. Monahan of Mustang, OK and Linda Cotter Milam of Duncan, OK; brother Jesse Edwards of Jacksonville. His humor and tenacity live on in his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
