Danny Peters, 52, Baker native

Danny Lee (Byrd) Peters, 52, of Kansas City, Missouri died Thursday, April, 7 2011 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

He was a native of Baker County and grew up in Taylor and Macclenny, graduating from BCHS in 1977. Danny was a son of the late Shirley F. (Richardson) Smith of Jacksonville and Marshall B. Peters of Sanderson. He was a longtime member of the culinary arts community where he perfected his cooking and culinary skills. He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley F. Smith and brother Marshall “Duane” Peters.

Survivors include sister Deborah June Peters of Waycross, Ga; brothers Burley H. “Bugger” (Tina) Peters of Taylor, Thomas “Tab” Byrd of Macclenny and Michael S. Peters (Robert Hubbard), of Charlotte, NC; two nieces, one nephew; six great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the home of Ken and Linda Carter, 15985 Jack Dowling Circle in Sanderson on May 7 at 4:00 pm.

Patricia Lindsey, 80, of Glen dies

Patricia Ann Goff Barber Lind­­sey, 80, a long time resident of Glen St. Mary, died April 23, 2011. She was born November 1, 1930 in Jacksonville and retired from the federal government after 30 years of service.

Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 35 years, Curtis H. Lindsey; son Stanton R. Barber; step-son Charles Lindsey; step-daughters Patti Lindsey and Peggy Burton; grandson Sammy Nobles.

Survivors include her daughter Beverly Gainey; son Bruce Barber; daughter-in-law Pat Bar­­­­ber; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 11:30 am April 26 at the First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary with Rev. Randy Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons or a favorite charity. Forbes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Infant daughter Journey Gordon

Journey Faith Gordon of Bryceville, infant daughter of Jason Todd Gordon and Tanya Anne Moore, died April 12, 2011. She was preceded in death by grandmother Kim Moore.

Survivors other than her parents include sisters Jadyn Lynn Gordon and Jaleigh Grace Gordon; paternal grandparents Sheila and Mike Gordon; maternal grandparents Glen and Robin Moore; paternal great-grandmother Glenda Strickland; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A graveside service was held April 15 at 3:00 pm at Dinsmore Cemetery in Jacksonville with Pastor Gordon Gunter officiating. Ferreira Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Clarice Jarosz, 87, of Keystone Heights died Monday, April 18, 2011 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. She was born in Jacksonville on February 19, 1924 to Paul and Courtney (Williams) Howard and was a homemaker. She had been a resident of Keystone Heights since 1970 and a member of the Keystone Heights First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jarosz was preceded in death by husband Paul Jarosz Sr.; son Paul Jarosz Jr.; brothers Paul Howard and Ray Padgett.
