John Randall “Buck” Davis Jr., 75, of Macclenny died on January 25, 2013 at his residence with family by his side. He was born in Pierce County, Georgia on November 9, 1937 to the late John Randall Davis Sr. and Sina Hickox Davis. Buck was a lifelong resident of Macclenny and graduated from Baker County High School in 1956, the first year it became consolidated.
He was the owner and operator of Davis Utilities, Inc. for 40 years and retired in 2005. Buck was an avid John Wayne fan and collector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling to the mountains with his family. He was preceded in death by sisters Pauline Ogilvie, Lois Mobley and Eloise Harvey.
Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife of 55 ½ years Wanda Loadholtz Davis and daughter Dee Dee Johnson, both of Macclenny; granddaughters Sedaira and Taylor Johnson, both of Macclenny; sisters Estell Green of Taylor and Evelyn Crews of Macclenny.
The funeral service for Mr. Davis was held on Tuesday, January 29 at 2 pm at the Christian Fellowship Temple with pastors Timmy Thomas, Buddy Combs and Carl Cowart officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery. V. Todd Ferreria Funeral Services of Macclenny was in charge of arrangements.
