Clyde Whitter Johns, 101, of Sanderson, FL died January 6, 2013 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mr. Johns was born in Charlton County, GA on July 18, 1911 to the late Charney H. Johns and Mattie Dowling Johns. He has been a lifelong resident of Baker County, where he was a member of the Baker County Cattlemen Association. Mr. Johns enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and tending to his cattle and hogs. He was a lifelong farmer and loved being outdoors.Mr. Johns was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, R.O. Coleman Johns and his son, Malcolm Kelly Johns.
He is survived by his son, Clyde Hal (Brenda) Johns of Taylor; his sisters, Irene Thrift Parrish and Murriel Rayan, both of Moniac, GA; and his granddaughter, Lacey Ashlynn Johns, also of Taylor.
The funeral will be Thursday, January 10 at 11 am at Taylor Church with pastors Mark Woods and Jim Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9 from 6– 8 pm at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services, which is in charge of arrangements.
