The US Postal Service is picking up food donations on May 10 this year for its annual food drive.
Carriers will collect canned and other nonperishable foods on that Saturday.
Pastor Mitch Rhoden of the Samaritan Food Bank and the Baker County Ministerial Alliance said all the donations collected locally will remain here to benefit the food bank.
He said in past years some 10,000 to 12,000 pounds of food has been donated by residents county-wide. “Maybe we can double that,” said the pastor.
