The Children’s Partnership Council of Baker, Bradford and Union counties will meet for the first time in Baker County on June 18 at 10 a.m at the health department, 480 W. Lowder St., in Macclenny.
Anyone interested helping to fill gaps in services for at-risk children and families are encouraged to attend the meeting, which is normally held in Bradford County monthly.
This month’s meeting was moved here to spur more involvement by Baker County residents and organizations, said Tracie Sides of the Baker Prevention Coalition, which aims to curb substance abuse among youths here. She regularly attends the partnership’s meetings in Bradford County.
Recently, the Children’s Partnership Council has been working on a program to supply gas cards to clients of partner agencies because the council members agreed that transportation was a critical need not being addressed, show minutes from the group’s May 21 meeting here: Council Minutes-BBU-5-21-14
The council was formed by Partnership For Strong Families, a state-funded nonprofit organization.
