Gaskins a scholar athlete

In the June 12 edition of The Press, seven Lady Wildcat basketball players were named as scholar athletes who maintained a GPA of at least a 3.0. Vivica Gaskins, who was mistakenly omitted from the list, is the eighth player on the team to be a scholar athlete.

Tucker Thrift now regional wrestling champion

Tucker Thrift has done it again.

Less than a year after he started wrestling, the 7-year-old Macclenny grappler won the Southeast Regional Championship in three different events at a meet held May 23 through 25 in Atlanta. Thrift won the championship in the kids’ bantamweight division in the Folkstyle, Greco and Freestyle at the meet, which featured wrestlers from nine states. Read More »

Cats over Clay 7-2 at home

Coach Fred Matricardi’s Wildcat baseball team opened its summer schedule in dominating fashion June 10 in a blowout 7-2 home win over Clay in a storm-shortened 4 1/3 inning game.
