I have been troubled by the situation in our schools and children in our county going without food. I know it is not just a school lunch situation, but a lot of our children have no food at home. The one and only meal they might get is the lunch at school.
Like Rip Van Winkle waking up fully rejuvenated after a 20-year deep sleep, Macclenny is a town that appears to be entering a revitalization of its own after several years in economic slumber.
You couldn’t look at a city map and tell that Macclenny is slightly larger today. But it is.
Not that the growth means city coffers will be overflowing with additional tax revenue. They won’t.
