Future Wildcat cheer camp to perform during pregame

The girls pictured above are from the “BCHS Future Wildcat Cheerleader Clinic” held August 17 and led by Leslie Kerce and Kelley Mathews, the high school’s varsity cheerleading sponsors. Fly-in nets $1K for Wounded Warriors

DSC_0228Sixty miniature airplane pilots stationed themselves at the hayfield north of Glen August 17 for a fly-in benefit during which $1000 was raised for the Wounded Warriors Project assisting veterans of the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars.

Teachers raises aplenty in new union contract

Baker County teachers are starting the 2013-14 school year off this week with a new crop of students to educate in the classroom and more money to spend in their pockets.

Pay raises and bonuses for all teachers and longevity pay for dozens of senior instructors were included in a $790,311 salary and benefits package in a new contract for teachers approved by the school board during a meeting on the evening of August 19.
