Got bogus AT&T phone calls

A Macclenny man called the sheriff’s department after receiving two suspicious telephone calls on successive days last week, ostensively from a phone company.
Kevin Shell told Deputy John Minkel the first call came about 3 pm on November 7 and the person indicated she was from AT&T with questions about his level of service.

Drug arrests after I-10 stop

Deputies arrested two Middleburg residents on multiple drug charges the afternoon of November 7 after a K-9 unit sniffed out the illegal substances.
Investigators Matthew Yarborough and Michael Hauge pulled over a 2003 Ford Taurus after the vehicle swerved into the emergency lane and then back into the travel lane on Interstate 10. Aaron Wilder, 23, was the driver and Allison Martin, 28, a rear passenger. The car also contained a front seat passenger, 35-year-old Christopher Padgett of Jacksonville.
Inv. Hauge asked Mr. Wilder and Ms. Martin to exit the vehicle after they both appeared nervous, and they gave conflicting statements on several matters. Mr. Wilder refused to give permission to search the vehicle because of a small amount of marijuana, a used hypodermic needle, and a smoking pipe were inside. Read More »
