Updated: Police find human remains near site of missing Baker County woman’s abandoned vehicle near Lake City

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office reported Friday that K-9 search teams found human remains near the location of a missing Baker County woman's abandoned vehicle.

The discovery was made a little before noon on July 3. The identity of the body hasn't been confirmed but the sheriff's office public information officer Murray Smith said authorities suspect the remains to be that of Sharon Jackson, who was reported missing a week earlier.
