Five-year sentence for drugs

A Macclenny man with prior convictions for drug sales was sent back to prison on September 22 for five years after entering pleas to a new round of charges stemming from sale of both controlled drugs and marijuana to an undercover buyer over the New Years holiday this year.  Read More »

Register for historic 5K

Registration is open for the Second Annual Penney Farms Historic 5K, which takes place October 31 at 8:30 a.m.

The run begins the 90th anniversary celebration of Penney Farms, which is located about 8 miles west of Green Cove Springs in Clay County. A fun run/walk begins immediately after the 5K take off.

Special prizes for best costumes will also be awarded since the event takes place on Halloween.

“The after race party and awards ceremony will feature good music, great food and a number of prize drawings,” reads a press release.

Parking will be available at Town Hall, 4100 Clark Ave. and any residential streets.
