Headed toward ‘Land of Free, Home of the Stoned’?

I think I see where this is headed.

This week we learn the U.S. Department of Justice — that bastion of selective enforcement under Eric Holder — is signaling it wants to clear the federal prison system of “non-violent” drug offenders (never mind that most have pleaded down from serious crimes). Bob Gerard- My Side of the Matter

I’ve been married for almost 33 years, so you would think that I wouldn’t be surprised by very much. But this is an actual conversation from the Gerard household last night.
“Wake up,” my wife says as she nudges me.
“What?”
“Are you awake?”
“Yes. Why?”
“It’s dark,” she answers.
I look at the lighted dial of my watch. It’s 4 am.
“It’s supposed to be dark.”
“No,” she says. “It’s very, very dark.”
