Ray Linster, 74, auto shop owner

Raymond Charles Linster, 74, of Taylor died on June 24, 2012. He was born in Dickinson, North Dakota to the late Domnic Linster and Kathryn Biel Linster on July 4, 1937.  Ray was a resident of Baker County for the last 50 years and honorably served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was a mechanic for over 50 years and the owner and operator of Rays Auto Repair in Macclenny for 25 years. He loved racing, antique cars, rod runs and cruise-in car shows. 

Survivors include his loving wife Carolyn Godwin Linster of Taylor; children Rebecca (Dennis) Snow of Macclenny, Patrick (Christy) Linster, Ramona (Richard) Ossi and Nicole Linster, all  of Jacksonville, Amber Linster of Taylor; brother Henry Linster of Berryville, VA; sisters June Anton of Sacramento, CA and Betty Schulz of Eagle, Idaho; grandchildren Zachary (Daniela) Snow of Germany, Megan (Brad) Patterson, Regan Snow, Kris (Anna) Linster, Colt Linster, Madeline Ossi, Ansley Ossi and Dakota Ray Linster.

Nancy Hay, 56, dies on June 20th

Nancy Jesseman Hay, 56, of Macclenny died June 20, 2012 at her residence with family at her side. She was born in Jacksonville on December 28, 1955 to William Jesseman and the late Betty Belle Fish Jones. She was raised in Baker County and returned in 1990 with her husband. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Glen St. Mary.

Survivors include her loving husband Christian Hay of Macclenny; her Christian Nathaniel Hay and Johnathan David (Virginia) Hay, both of Macclenny;  brothers Jimmy and Butch Jesseman and Larry Jones;  sister Mary Rourke; granddaughter Ellena Hay.

William Ferguson, 42, of Sanderson

William Bryan Ferguson,  42, of Sanderson died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Jacksonville and resided in Sanderson for 12 years. Mr. Ferguson was a fence installer with Big J Fence Company in Jacks0nville and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by parents Robert and Rita Hayes of Jacksonville; wife Kelly Ferguson of Glen St.

Mary;sons James Wyatt Ferguson of Glen, William B. Ferguson II of Jacksonville and Tyler Ferguson of Baker County; his father William Ferguson of Callahan; sister Michelle Stevenson of Jacksonville; step-sister Jodi Hayes of Panama City, Fla.; Nephews, Dalton, Dusten, Jamie and Shawn; niece Christen (Jacob) Eubanks; one great-niece.

Thomas Barton, ex-DOC warden

Thomas Lee Barton Sr., 75, of Glen St. Mary died June 14, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Macclenny to the late Earn Barton and Hattie Lee Davis Barton on January 13, 1937. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Baker County and a member of First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary. He honorably served in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division and retired in 1992 after 33 years of service as a warden with the Florida Department of Corrections. Thomas loved deer hunting with dogs and enjoyed raising his hunting dogs. He also enjoyed competitive pistol shooting and was an avid sports fanatic who followed the Yankees, Gators, Jags, Dolphins and NASCAR’s Richard Petty.
