‘Robbie’ Glenn Williamson

Robert “Robbie” Glenn Williamson, 56, of Macclenny died February 2, 2012 following an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County, which he claimed was “a special place filled with special people.” Robbie enjoyed helping people which was evident by his various professions. Starting in law enforcement with the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, the former Macclenny Police Department, the Jacksonville International Airport and ending as an administrative assistant with Baker Community Counseling Services. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn F. Williamson.

Survivors include devoted mother Estelle B. Williamson; brothers Ryan B. Williamson and Andrew B. Williamson; sis­­­­ters Sheryl R. Williamson, Cynthia D. Pearce and Sheila M. Griffis, all of Macclenny; 10 nieces and nephews; six grand-nieces and nephews also survive.

Phillip Barton, 60, of Macclenny

Phillip Ressie Barton, 60, of Macclenny died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the home of his son following an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Macclenny and was an insulator in the heating and air-conditioning construction industry for 34 years until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Asbestos Union Local #13 of Jacksonville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the Florida Gators, his son and daughter-in-law, his granddaughters and his family and friends.

Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his parents Ressie and Agnes Griffis Barton, siblings Arlie, Alvin and John Barton and Pauline Barton Byrd.

Survivors include son Travis (Jennifer) Barton of Macclenny; sister Hester (Joe) Johnson of Macclenny; brothers Charles (Dot) Barton, Cliff (June) Barton and Edward “Buddy” Barton, all of Macclenny; granddaughters Madison and Megan Barton, both of Macclenny.

Ronald Perry, 63, of Glen St. Mary

 Ronald Lee Perry, 63, of Glen St. Mary died January 26, 2012. He was born in Marion, Ohio to the late Stanley Perry and Ileene Cole on February 13, 1948. He was a resident of Baker County since 1998 after moving from Ohio.

Ronald honorably served in the US Army and was employed for more than 20 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, driving his truck and traveling. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Wayne Perry.

Francis Monroe, 88, dies Jan. 27

Frances Monroe, 88, died January 27, 2012 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Monroe was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Old Town, FL, where she served as church secretary.

Survivors include children Rosebud Monroe and Oweida Manier, both of Macclenny; five grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
