Kathryn Bobo, 93, of Macclenny

Kathryn Yvette Bobo, 93, of Macclenny died February 14, 2012. She was born in Brownsville, Texas to the late Robert Emmett Isom and Kathryn Anne Nevill on December 9, 1918. She was a resident of Baker County since 2011 after moving from Kingsland, GA. Kathryn enjoyed traveling, RVs, bird watching, playing bridge and golf. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Lacy LaVerne Bobo and daughter Patricia Ann Driscoll. 

Survivors include daughters Marilyn Kay Gravett of TX and LaVerna Kay Genest of Kingsland, GA; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Blalock, 90, of Glen St. Mary

Mary Louise Blalock, 90, of Glen St. Mary died Friday, February 3, 2012. She was a resident of Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center for the last eleven months.

Survivors include daughters Nina (Bobby) Christmas of Glen St. Mary, Frances Potts and Linda Murphy, both of Sylvester, GA; son James Earl “Jimmy” (Julia) Blalock Jr. of Leesburg, GA; brother Gordon (Susan)Roland of St. Petersburg; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held February 6 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel in Sylvester. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Jesse Hath­­away officiating.

Barbara Hanover, 84, of St. George

Barbara Louise Hanover, 84, of St. George, GA died January 31, 2012 at Folkston Park Care and Rehab Center. Miss Hanover resided in St. George for the past 20 years and was a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Clinton D. and Irma I Hanover Jr. She grew up in Long Island, NY and was a member of Grace Baptist Fellowship Church in St. George. She is preceded in death by sisters Marion Virginia Meyer and Carole Kinister.

Survivors include brother Clinton D. Hanover III, Arlington, VA; special niece Eugenie (Patrick) Ahearn, Port Jefferson, NY; other nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held Thursday, February 2 at 2 pm at St. George Cemetery with Rev. Gene Burnsed officiating. Guerry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Eugene Ford, 95, of Sanderson

Deacon Eugene Ford, 95, of Sanderson died Friday, February 3, 2012 at Ed Fraser Hospital in Macclenny following an extended illness. He was born in Selma, AL to the late Delilah and Robert Ford. Mr. Ford was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ where he served on the deacon board, a member of the evangelist team for the Church of God in Christ, western Florida district and deacon of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Mack Ruise. He was the gate keeper for the Quitman Cemetery Association for over 15 years.

Survivors include wife Thelma Ford; sons Sylvester (Dorothy) Ford, Levice (Sandra) Daniel, Sammie Lee (Denise) Daniels, Jimmie (Joyce) Daniel, Issac Daniel, Purcel Daniel, Syril Ford, Eugene Ford Jr and Charlie (Jennifer) Denmark; daughters Mercilee (Rev. Dr. Rodney) Brown, Carlene Denmark, Caroline (John Reed) Denmark, Linda (Richard) Mills and Sherrie (Recardo) Mathews; 32 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; mother-in-law Lucile Durham; father-in-law George E. Durham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
