Mrs. Yarborough, 86, of Starke dies

Donnie Mae Green Yarborough, 86, of Starke died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City. Mrs. Yarborough was born on October 29, 1925 in Bradford County to the late Willie and Narcis (Thomas) Green and was a lifelong area resident. Donnie was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Glen St. Mary. She was preceded in death by her husbands William C. Laine and Odis Yarborough. 

Survivors include daughters Joy (Keith) Tetstone of Starke; Barbara (Eddie) McLeod of Jasper; step-children June Walker of Macclenny; Faye Combs of Atmore, AL; Juanita Spurgeon of Melrose; Gloria Mott of Clinton Township, MI; Bobby Yarborough of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren Aaron (Kacie) Tetstone of Lake Butler,  Merideth (Joey) Fitzpatrick of Orlando, and Alana (Andrew) Barnett of Mt. Juliet, TN; great- grandchildren Abby, Ally, Adam, and Brady and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Bill Davis, 84, of Jacksonville

James William “Bill” Davis, 84, of Jacksonville died February 24, 2012. He was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God and he will be greatly missed. Bill was preceded in death by daughter Stacey Ann. 

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Maxie N. (Burnsed) Davis; children Debra Bell (Jim) of Hampton, VA, Mike Davis of Jacksonville, Barbie Fletcher of Jacksonville and Jeannie Bas­­kin (John) of Macclenny; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

The funeral service was held at 11 am Tuesday, February 28 at his church. Interment was at 3:30 pm in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Nashville, Georgia. Giddens-Reed Funeral Home of Baldwin was in charge of arrangements.

Danny Lamb, 61, dies February 24th

Danny George Lamb, 61, of Macclenny died February 24, 2012. He was born in Jacksonville to the late Mary Ellen Mattair Lamb on May 22, 1950. He was a resident of Baker County since 1960 and attended Celebration Baptist Church. Danny was a 1968 graduate of Baker County High School, had an undergraduate degree in physical education from the University of West Florida and masters of education administration from Florida State University.

Mr. Lamb had 35 years in the auto sales industry and was the owner-operator of Danny Lamb’s Auto and Truck Center for the last 16 years. Danny was a Civil War buff, enjoyed Carolina shag dancing, exercising, reading and he was passionate about the development of Downtown Macclenny. He was a loving and devoted father.

Main Outlaw, 88, WWII vet.

Main Outlaw, 88, of Macclenny died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Lake City following a long illness.He was a native of Moniac, GA and resided in Macclenny for the past 65 years. He was a truck driver for Southern Concrete Company in Jacksonville for 28 years until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Macclenny, an Army veteran of WWII and loved to hunt, fish and work in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents William Henry and Millie Thrift Outlaw, his son William Henry Outlaw and sister Mamie Sands.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years Ida Pearl Outlaw of Macclenny; daughter Willie Hazel (Tom) Bell of Fruit Cove; grandchildren Joshua Tay­­lor (Jennie) Bell and Aaron Christopher (Misha) Bell; great-granddaughter Kennedy Peyton Bell.

The funeral service was held Saturday, February 25 at his church with Dr. Edsel Bone officiating, assisted by Rev. Bob Christmas. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny. Guerry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
