Jason Bassile, 28, an accident victim

Jason David Bassile, 28, of Macclenny died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

He was a lifelong resident of Baker County. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was an auto mechanic who loved his work. He is survived by his mother Jenise James of Macclenny; sons Jeremiah and Tyler Bassile of Lake Butler and Trenton Bassile of Macclenny; sister Nicole (Michael) McFarlin of Macclenny; numerous other family and friends.

Mr. Bassile was preceded in death by his father David J. Bassile. The funeral service was held at noon on July 14 at First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary with Pastor Randy Williams officiating. Interment followed at Manntown Cemetery in Glen. Arrangements by Forbes Funeral Home of Macclenny.



Oliver Crews, 82, livestock farmer

Oliver Donald Crews, 82, of Moniac, GA died on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born and lived his entire life in Moniac, and was the son of the late Robert and Millie Crews.

Mr. Crews owned and operated a large livestock farm on Hwy. 185 across the Florida-Georgia line for years. He was a member of the Moniac Baptist Church, the Georgia Farm Bureau and the bureau board for 20 years, 13 years as president. He was recently recognized by the Georgia Farm Bureau for 42 years of service as a charter member.

Mr. Crews was drafted into the Navy during the Korean War and served honorably for two years, and he also served on the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Gold Kist Egg Board for many years.

Bud Daniels, 56, of Bryceville dies

Carl A. (Bud) Daniels Jr., 56, of Bryceville died on July 6, 2012 in Baldwin following a lengthy illness. He was born on June 4, 1956 in Jacksonville, the son of the late Carl. A. Daniels Sr. and the former Sally Cobb.

Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife of 13 years Royalyne Daniels: his mother Sally Daniels; daughters Delicia (Riley) Strickland, Shelley (Rob) Parman and Wendy (Brenton) Barton; step-daughter Taylor Warren and step-son Jordan Warren; sister Tina Braddock; seven grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at 11 am on July 9 at Brandy Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Rusty Bryan officiating. Interment followed at Brandy Branch Cemetery in Bryceville.

Theresa Hardee, onetime resident

Theresa Barbara Crossley Hardee, 72, died on June 16, 2012. She was born on June 2, 1940 in Green Cove Springs and resided at one time in Baker County.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Harold T. Hardee; daughter Debra K. Hardee-Harris (Micheal) of Huntsville, AL; son Harold T. “Hal” Hardee (Luanne) of Madison, AL; grandson Garrett Wade Hardee, also of Madison; brother Carl J. Crossley of Green Cove Springs.
