Joseph Moore Sr., 75, of Macclenny

Joseph Burnell Moore, Sr., 75, of Macclenny died July 20, 2012. He was born in Wayne County, Georgia to the late Jessie Albert Moore and Myrtice O’Neal Moore on February 13, 1937 and lived in Baker County most of his life. Joseph honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later was a carpenter in the construction field. He loved visiting with family and friends, playing cards and fishing. He loved his church and his family. He was predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Dollie Mae Moore, and siblings Ruth Douglas, Ruby Williams and Marie Ragsdale.

Joyce Wilson dies on July 19th

Joyce E. Wilson of Macclenny died on July 19, 2012 surrounded by loved ones. She was predeceased by parents Daniel Higginbotham and Jennie O’ Berry and brother Donald Higginbotham.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by son Brett Wilson; daughters Lori Moore (Wayne), Lisa Davis (Tim), and Sandy Alford (Gary); brothers Daniel Higginbotham (Rosie), David Higginbotham, Frank O’ Berry (Laura) and Clarence O’ Berry (Peggy); sister Lora Gazebo; grandchildren Bobby, Andy, Danielle (Jessee), Brittany (Russell), Justin, Mattie; great-grandchildren Tyler, Adrianna, and Evan; numerous nieces and nephews.

‘Gal’ Sanders, a floral designer

Marilyn Jane “Gal” Sanders, 75, of Orlando died on Monday, July 23, 2012. She was born April 8, 1937 to the late Joseph Paul and Wenona Elizabeth Etheridge Miller. A retired floral designer, Ms. Sanders enjoyed arts and crafts, playing video and computer games, and spending time with her family, which she loved most of all.

She is survived by her loving sons Eddy (Cindy) Sanders Jr. of Sanderson and Jack (Margorie) Sanders of Orlando; daughters Donna Kay North of Jacksonville, Suzy (Keith) Cumpston of Glen St. Mary, and Wendy (Wayne) Vincent of Fernandina Beach; sister Helen Wilson and brother Bo (Barbara) Miller, both of Callahan; fifteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jason Bassile, 28, an accident victim

Jason David Bassile, 28, of Macclenny died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was an auto mechanic who loved his work. He is survived by his mother Jenise (Gary) James of Macclenny; sons Jeremiah and Tyler Bassile of Lake Butler and Trenton Bassile of Macclenny; sister Nicole (Michael) McFarlin of Macclenny; numerous other family and friends.

Mr. Bassile was preceded in death by his father David J. Bassile. The funeral service was held at noon on July 14 at First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary with Pastor Randy Williams officiating. Interment followed at Manntown Cemetery in Glen. Arrangements by Forbes Funeral Home of Macclenny.
