Ronald Johnson, 69, of Macclenny

Ronald Harold Johnson, 69, of Macclenny died August 3, 2012 at his friend’s home. He was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on April 10, 1943 to the late Harold S. Johnson and Mary Francis Mikclo Johnson. Ronald has been a resident of Macclenny for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on his property. He was preceded in death by his son David Michael Johnson.

Survivors include sons Ronald Troy Johnson and Korey Johnson both of Jacksonville; his sister Lynn; granddaughter, Romi Gayle Johnson.

V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services of Macclenny was in charge of arrangements.

Hector Osle, 62, a native of Cuba

Hector L. Osle, 62, of Glen St. Mary died August 5, 2012 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville. He was born in Havana, Cuba on December 17, 1949. Hector has been a resident of Glen St. Mary since 2003 after moving from Miami. He was employed in sales and customer services for many years at Interline Brands in Jacksonville.

Hector was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary where he was active in the men’s ministry and online ministry. He was an avid Miami Hurricane fan, loved telling jokes and  enjoyed watching the Food Network and Yard Crashers.

William Rhoden, 55, of Jacksonville

William B. (Jaybird) Rhoden, 55, died Thursday, August 2, 2012. Bruce was born January 12, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida to Billy and Lennie Rhoden. He was preceded in death by his father,  brother Eddie Rhoden and  great-nephew Luke Burnsed.

Survivors include his loving mother, brother David Rhoden (Jackie), sisters Karen Carter (Joe) and Vicky Lorick (Harold); 11 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed and was truly loved by all who knew him. The funeral service was held on Sunday, August 5 at 3 pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Interment followed at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville.

‘Nanny’ Barber funeral July 24th

Rhoda Mizell (Nanny) Barber, 92, originally of Waycross, GA, died surrounded by her loved ones the night of Thursday, July 19, 2012 at her son’s home in Sanderson after a lengthy illness. She was born in Hopkins, GA in Ware County and raised in the Okefeenokee Swamp by her parents, the late Maggie Hendrix Mizell and the late Hamp Mizell, co-author of “The History of the Okefeenokee.”

She lived her life in Manor and Waycross, married to the late Robert Leo Barber. Mrs. Barber was a graduate of Manor High School and Ware County Vocational School. She was a licensed practical nurse and touched many lives at both Homerville Hospital as well as Ware Manor Nursing Home until her retirement.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her daughters Sylvia Barber Howell Caswell and Barbara Ann Barber Ferrante.
