Barbara Johnson, 76, of Sanderson

Barbara Lee Johnson, 76, of Sanderson died August 27, 2012 at her residence with family by her side. She was born in Baker County on May 31, 1936 to the late Thomas L. Revis and Susie Yonn Revis. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Baker County and a long time member of the Taylor Church. She enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, being outdoors and skinning snakes.  Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Osteen;  brothers Thomas J. Herrin and John H. Herrin; her sister Mary B. Cresgy. 

She is survived by her loving children Patricia (Kenny) Crews of Baxter, Janice Harvey of Glen St. Mary, Juanita Rogers of Sanderson, Thomas Rayburn of Middleburg, Arlene Cooey of Chicago, Darlene Cooey of Ocala and Joni Langley of Baxter; her  24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Lisa Palleschi funeral Saturday

Lisa Ann Palleschi, 46, of Glen St. Mary died August 19, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Key West, FL on November 12, 1965 to Jim Palleschi and Bonnie Palleschi. She was a resident of Baker County most of her life and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Lisa enjoyed reading, cooking, watching Disney movies and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother Jason Robert Palleschi.

She is survived by husband William Geiling; her parents; sister Kimberly (Jeff) Delaney of Lake City; niece Jennifer Wallace; and numerous uncles and aunts.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, August 25, at 11 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Slawek as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA  22312. Ferreira Funeral Services of Macclenny is in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Robinson, 69, of Olustee dies

Bobby W. Robinson, 69, of Olustee died Thursday morning, August 23, 2012. He was born November 21, 1942 in Olustee to the late Lottie Watley and Fred Robinson. After graduating from Richardson High School in Lake City, he enlisted in the United States Army and retired from the Army with the rank of Sgt. E-5.

Bobby met and married the love of his life, Audrey Lynne Jenkins of Halifax, North Carolina and on August 19, 2012, they celebrated 40 years  of marriage. He was also predeceased by brothers Fred Robinson and Willie Joe Robinson; sisters Carrie Bush and Sarah O’Neal.

Cecil M. Hayes, a longtime pastor

Cecil M. Hayes, 85, of Macclenny died August 15, 2012 at the Earl B. Hadlow Center in Jacksonville. He was born in Atlanta on April 26, 1927. Mr. Hayes was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at the former Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville as an assistant administrator for many years, but was best known as a pastor at several Congregational Holiness Churches in Florida and Atlanta. He was also a former pastor of the Christian Fellowship Temple in Macclenny and later retired from pastoring United Methodist churches in the Atlanta and Western North Carolina areas.

Rev. Hayes graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor of business administration degree, from Emory University with a master of divinity degree, Luther Rice Seminary with a master of theology degree, and American Divinity School with a doctor of divinity degree. He was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
