Frances Skinner of Bryceville dies

Frances R. Skinner, 59, of Bryceville died on Thursday, October 25, 2012. She was born in Jacksonville and was a lifelong resident of North Florida. Mrs. Skinner was a member of First Baptist Church of Bryceville and Flo Blue International Collector’s Club.

Survivors include her husband Larry Skinner; son Samuel Skinner; daughters Marley (Darren) Harris and Wendy (DJ) Glover; grandchildren Colton and Ellisyn; parents John E. and Martha Simms; brother Robert Simms; other family and friends.

The funeral service was held at  11 am Monday, October 29 at her church with Pastor Terry Yerby officiating. Interment followed at Motes Cemetery, Bryceville. Giddens-Reed Funeral Home of Baldwin was in charge of arrangements.

Churman Yonn, 89, of Sanderson dies

Churman Y. Yonn Jr., 89, of Sanderson died October 9, 2012. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and is survived by wife Judy Mollica Yonn, a daughter, sister, granddaughter and other loved ones. The funeral service for Mr. Yonn was held on October 22  in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Orange Park. Interment followed in the nearby cemetery.

‘Jack’ Taylor, 76, dies October 9th

John T. “Jack” Taylor, 76, of Baldwin died on October 9, 2012 in Jacksonville. He was born on December 5, 1935 in Brantley, AL to the late Henry Marvin Taylor and former Lillie Pearl Burnett.

Mr. Taylor is survived by daughter Chabrier Walker; sisters Sarah (Edmond) Williams and Willie Mae (Lawrence) Keys, both of Plant City, Florida; brother Luther Burnett of Plant City; special friend Inez Deboblabon; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by brother John Henry Taylor. He was dearly loved and a good friend to many, and will be missed.

A graveside service for Mr. Taylor was held at 11 am Friday, October 19, 2012 at Piney Grove Cemetery in Baldwin with pastor Gene Billon officiating.

Doris Rielly, 96, was retired nurse

Doris Braddock Rielly, 96, of Glen St. Mary died October 20, 2012 at Acosta-Rua Center for Caring in Jacksonville. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 27, 1915 to the late Arthur Collins and Lucille Collins and was raised in Jacksonville after moving there in 1925. She attended and graduated from Jacksonville Tech in 1955 as a licensed practical nurse and worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital and later at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital.

Doris became a member of San Jose Baptist Church in Jacksonville in 1980. She enjoyed reading, crafts, and traveling and will always be remembered as a loving mother to her three sons. She was preceded in death by three husbands, LH “Dick” Braddock, Walter Richardson and JW “Jim” Rielly; sons Richard L. “Dickie” and Robert E. “Bob” Braddock; sisters Donna C. Haddock and Ester Collins Thompson; brother Lester Collins;  grandsons James L. “Jimmy” and Daryl C. Braddock.

She is survived by her loving son and caregiver since 2004, Jerry Braddock of Glen St. Mary; daughter-in-law Joyce Braddock of Glen St. Mary; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday October 24 at 11 am at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville with Pastor Perry Hays officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Doris’ name to a favorite charity or organization. V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services of Macclenny was in charge of arrangements.
