Doug Dugan, 50, dies in Illinois

Paul Douglas Dugan, 50, of Macclenny died August 10, 2012 at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, IL. He was born in Vandalia on December 17, 1961 to Harold Roger Dugan and Janet Ann Maitland, and had been a resident of Macclenny for seven years after moving from Jacksonville. From a very young age

Doug was a hardworking, productive gentleman working three to four jobs at once. He was a graduate of Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville and was the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania for 10 years. More recently he was a truck driver for SLT Trucking. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church and an avid Tennessee Titan fan who enjoyed golfing, cycling, scuba diving, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Evelyn Mann, 84, dies on August 9th

Evelyn Couey Mann, 84, of Glen St. Mary died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville after an extended illness. She was born in Dublin, GA to the late Leroy Bryant Couey and Molly Lee Etheridge Couey and lived the last 40 years in Glen. Mrs. Mann was a Baptist and for years was a hotel clerk.

She was predeceased by children Mancy Mann, Judy Mason, Lawrence Stains and Sherman Mason. Mrs. Mann is survived by daughters Gloria Faye (Johnny) Williams and Rose Mary Roland, both of Jacksonville; sons Wade (Sylvia) Mason Sr. of Maxville, Clifford Mason Jr. and Shelton (Debbie) Mason, both of Jacksonville; son-in-law John Mann; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred Mikell funeral on Friday

Mildred I. Mikell, 89, formerly of Sanderson, died Sunday, August 12, 2012. She was a veteran of the Women’s Army Corps during WWII and a retired nursing assistant. A member of the Christian Fellowship Temple, Ms. Mikell enjoyed being part of the visitation ministry for the sick and shut-ins and participating with the prayer chain ministry. She also loved music, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by sons David (Kathleen) Miller and Wayne (Martha Kay) Norris, both of Lake City; daughter Donna (Jer­ry) Hewett of Crawfordville, FL; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rema Parker, 88, of Glen St. Mary

Rema Parker, 88, of Glen St. Mary died Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Born in Perry, FL to the late William and Victoria Padgett Parker, he has been a Baker County resident since 1968. A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Parker was aboard the fifth ship into Tokyo when Japan surrendered. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building things, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by sons Douglas Parker of Glen St. Mary, Steve (Wanda) Parker and Barry (Alice) Parker, both of Jacksonville, and Wayne (Wanda) Parker of Macclenny; daughters Maria Parker of Jacksonville and Evelyn Parker of Sanderson; sister Ruth Cribbs of Live Oak; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; his loyal sidekick “Pistol.”
