Military rites on Thursday for Mr. Hadden

Eugene Hadden, 87, of Sanderson died on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. Mr. Hadden was born in 1926 in Jacksonville to the late Leon H. and Ruby Hall Hadden. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Hadden in 1985.

Survivors include sister Louise Smith of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation with the family and friends will be on Wednesday afternoon, March 20, from 3-5 pm at Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny.

Linda Hartline, 68, of Glen dies on March 14th

Linda Hartline, 68, of Glen St. Mary died on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Ms. Hartline was a Primitive Baptist and enjoyed playing cards, working outside, spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by sons William H. Hartline II and Jesse B. Hartline, both of Glen St. Mary; daughter Norma (Joe) Hartline of Glen St. Mary; brothers Bill (Annette) Rhoden of Glen St. Mary, Fred (Cheryl) Rhoden of Ft. White and Ronnie (Kathy) Rhoden of Jacksonville; grandchildren Dustin Davis, MacKenzie Williams, Cody Williams, Garrett Williams and Savana Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Floyd and Doris Rhoden and by daughter Selinda D. Hartline.

Adrienne Heth, 80, dies on March 10

Adrienne Zenk Heth, 80, of Macclenny died on March 10, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville. Adrienne was born on May 30, 1932 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, to the late Arnold E. and Genevieve R. Zenk. She sang in the Milton College Choir in Milton, WI in the 1950’s and was a receptionist at Jones Dairy Farm in Fort Atkinson.

She co-founded Heth Real Estate, Inc. in Jacksonville in 1970 and the business was sold in 2008. She later retired from AT&T in 1998. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jacksonville for 42 years and was active in the Guild and other church functions before becoming a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Macclenny. Adrienne was an accomplished tailor and made her wedding dress and her son’s clothes in the early years. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, puzzles and reading.

‘Red’ Padgett of Macclenny dies March 15

Shirley Jean “Red” Padgett, 59, of Macclenny died on March 15, 2013 at her residence. She was born on January 21, 1954 in Macclenny to Janette Mikell Wilkerson and the late Junior “Satch” Wilkerson. Shirley attended Emmanuel Baptist Church before her illness. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, collecting dolls and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Buster Padgett; daughter Linnie Ann Padgett; her son Buster Padgett Jr.; brothers-in-law Arlie Barton and Neil Crews.

Mrs. Padgett is survived by her mother; children Dana (Chris) Padgett, Johnny Matthew Padgett and Wesley (Kimberly) Padgett, all of Macclenny; brother Jimmy (Dorothy) Wilkerson of Macclenny; sisters Peggy (James) Newmans and Sissie Crews of Macclenny; thirteen grandchildren.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 20 at 11 am at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services chapel in Macclenny with Pastor Troy Alexander officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
