Official to clarify board’s budget role

Last week the Baker County Commission scheduled a budget hearing for 3:30 p.m. on March 3 to review county department budget requests for 2015-16 and to receive a presentation from the Florida Association of Counties, or FAC, on the statutory role of county commissions in the budget process as it relates to constitutional offices: sheriff, tax collector, property appraiser, clerk of courts and elections supervisor.
