Names omitted

The following Baker County veterans names were inadvertently omitted from the page 15 Veterans Day tribute in last week’s edition: Bruce Barber, USMC Vietnam; William Murray, WW2 Army; Dale Murray, Army 1970; Larry Courson, USMC; Marcus Joyner, USMC.

The name of Noah Wilkes was omitted from the principal’s list honor roll at Macclenny Elementary.

Brunswick, GA man arrested for DUI after FL-GA football game

A Florida-Georgia football game reveler was arrested for drunk driving on Interstate 10 in the pre-midnight hour of November 2 after motorists reported he was weaving in and out of the westbound travel lanes.
Deputy Robert Simpkins said he spotted the black 2004 Ford pickup identified in the called-in reports near the Glen St. Mary exit about 11:50 pm and pulled over Trek Smith, 42, of Brunswick, GA. The officer said he observed the pickup weaving across lanes and onto the shoulder.
Mr. Smith had a strong odor of alcohol and admitted he drank “too much” earlier. He at one point presented a credit card in place of his driver’s license, was disoriented with bloodshot eyes and wore soiled clothing. Read More »
