BCHS Relay for Life team’s ribbons raises nearly $300 towards second-year goal

High school junior Corley Sweat, 17, and her six-month-old and 281-pound gilt won the Grand Champion title at Northeast Florida Fair in Callahan two weeks ago.

Freshman ‘Hurt the Hornets’ float voted best of parade

IMG_3760The homecoming float of Baker County High School’s Class of 2018 won best of the parade honors in the annual homecoming voting by students at the Glen St. Mary campus last week.

The "Hurt the Hornets" themed float featured plenty of students clad in hornet costumes with casts, arm slings and the like as well as other students dressed as nurses and doctors performing CPR on injured hornets. Trailing the float was a faux ambulance. A hornet on a gurney (above) waved to the crowds lining both sides of U.S. 90 for the homecoming parade the afternoon of October 16. Read More »
