Extended day start-end times

The start time for the school district’s extended day enrichment program that appeared in the recent Back to School supplement in The Press was incorrect.

The correct time for programs at the PreK-K Center, Westside and Macclenny elementaries and Keller Intermediate is 6:30 am. The morning session ends at 8:35 am; the afternoon sessions are from 3:25 to 6 pm.

Teachers raises aplenty in new union contract

Baker County teachers are starting the 2013-14 school year off this week with a new crop of students to educate in the classroom and more money to spend in their pockets.

Pay raises and bonuses for all teachers and longevity pay for dozens of senior instructors were included in a $790,311 salary and benefits package in a new contract for teachers approved by the school board during a meeting on the evening of August 19.
