Griffis named top school-related employee

Nine school district employees, joined by their guests and supervisors, were honored at a dinner on January 13 where Roseanne Griffis, secretary for exceptional student education/student services, was named the school-related employee of the year.

She’ll represent the district for the state-level competition to select Florida’s school-related employee of the year. Also honored that evening were Lisa Koburger, Pre-K/VPK coordinator at PK-Kindergarten Center; Cheryl M. Kennedy, RN – school nurse at Macclenny Elementary; Joan Midyette, nutrition services manager at Westside Elementary; Amy Stalvey, guidance secretary at Keller Intermediate; Kevin Williams, nutrition service assistant at Baker County Middle School; Blanche Chinn, nutrition services assistant at Baker County High School; Keith Thrift, shop manager at transportation department and Larry Davis, maintenance journeyman at maintenance department.

Florida’s commissioner of education Pam Stewart will announce the state’s employee of the year in the spring.

The dinner here was sponsored by ValuTeachers, First Federal Bank, VyStar Credit Union and Baker County Medical Services.
