Relay for Life volunteers will be busing tables and keeping the dining area tidy at Firehouse Subs in Macclenny between noon and 3 pm on February 8, doing their part for a fund raiser benefiting the annual American Cancer Society drive. The restaurant agreed to donate 10% of all sales during those three hours to the Relay for Life scheduled for May 16 at the Baker Middle School track.

The Baker County Hospital Authority will have its quarterly meeting on January 15 at 4 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce in downtown Macclenny. Board members may also adjourn to attend the grand opening of the Rural Health Clinic at 5 p.m. at 157 North 3rd. St.

Healthy Baker, Inc. will hold its monthly meeting Monday, January 13 at 11:45 pm at the health department. Immediately following the meeting the National Children’s Study mobile van will be on display at the department for the public to view. The van will be used to meet with mothers and children enrolled in the National Children’s Study here. Then at 1:15 p.m. the Baker County Infant Mortality Task Force will convene at the health department for its quarterly meeting. The task force is planning action steps to help reduce infant mortality here.
