Baker County Health Department Quit Smoking Now Class will be Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 PM starting January 13, 2015 and ending February 17, 2015. This is a free class with free Nicotine Replacement Patches, Gum and Lozenges and free community, worksite and clinic groups offered. It covers all forms of tobacco. Call 877-784-8486 to register. Senator Charles Dean (R-Inverness) recently announced the Baker County Legislative Delegation Meeting.
The delegation, which includes Representative Elizabeth Porter (R-Lake City), will meet on Tuesday, January 13th at 3:30PM at the Baker County Commission Chambers, located at 55 N 3rd Street in Macclenny, FL. (more…)

A candle lighting will take place at Heritage Park December 14 at 6:30 p.m. to support families of children who have died. Photos of lost children will be displayed during a slide show. The annual Breakfast with Santa benefit for the Baker County Friends of the Instrumental Arts will be Saturday, December 13 at BCHS starting at 8 a.m. It’s $5 admittance in advance and $7 at the door. Dr. Derrick Carter’s free dental clinic for Baker County residents will be Friday, December 12. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. (on the day of the event), and treatment will begin at 9:00 a.m. The only requirement is a valid ID for proof of residence. Treatment will be for urgent/emergent care (toothaches) and will be on a first come, first served basis. The Baker County High School Health Careers program has students volunteering again this year.
