Baker Book Blast: March 1st from 10am-3pm
Baker County will hold its annual toxic roundup at the county courthouse complex on March 1 from 9 am to 3 pm collecting household hazardous waste including aerosol cans, batteries, antifreeze, computers and other electronic waste, propane tanks, oil and oil filters, fertilizer and pesticides, fluorescent lamps, pool chemicals, cleaning products, medications and more. DO NOT bring explosives, reactives (crystallized ethers, picric acid and sodium or phosphorous metals) or radioactive or infectious waste. Relay for Life volunteers will be busing tables and keeping the dining area tidy at Firehouse Subs in Macclenny between noon and 3 pm on February 8, doing their part for a fund raiser benefiting the annual American Cancer Society drive. The restaurant agreed to donate 10% of all sales during those three hours to the Relay for Life scheduled for May 16 at the Baker Middle School track.
