Florida Kiwanis is helping fund a “Reading in the Park” event for kids in pre-K through 3rd grade, from 10 to 11:30 am on October 12 at Celebration Park in Glen St. Mary. The club will help buy materials for the event, which will include hot dogs and soft drinks. Free books will be distributed at the event as well.

The public is invited to a model airplane fly-in on Saturday, August 17 at the hay field off CR 125 north of Glen St. Mary.
The event sponsored by the Shadetree Miniature Aircraft Assoc. coincides with National Model Aviation Day and all proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Sponsors have arranged for free watermelon (while it lasts), pizza, cold drinks, a candy drop and raffle. Full size aircraft will be on display.

A benefit is scheduled for Saturday, July 27 at the Macclenny Moose Lodge to benefit Tabbatha (Norman) Armstrong of Macclenny, who was incapacitated in an automobile accident several years ago.

There are still openings for the week long 4-H summer camp in Madison County on July 15-19.
Camp Cherry Lake is the place to spend a week out of your summer. Youth ages 8-18 can enjoy a wonderful week-long experience. Activities include campfires, archery, kayaking, a dance, and much more. The cost is 4-H member $205, for non-member $215. Deadline to register is July 10.
We would love to have more youth represent Baker County at Camp Cherry Lake. Pick up registration forms from the Baker County Extension Office, 1025 W. Macclenny Ave., Macclenny, FL. 32063 or at baker.ifas.ufl.edu.
