Brunswick, GA man arrested for DUI after FL-GA football game

Deputy Robert Simpkins said he spotted the black 2004 Ford pickup identified in the called-in reports near the Glen St. Mary exit about 11:50 pm and pulled over Trek Smith, 42, of Brunswick, GA. The officer said he observed the pickup weaving across lanes and onto the shoulder.
Mr. Smith had a strong odor of alcohol and admitted he drank “too much” earlier. He at one point presented a credit card in place of his driver’s license, was disoriented with bloodshot eyes and wore soiled clothing. Read More »

Possible suspect in tire slash outside bar

She left the bar with Melissa Pope, 27, of Macclenny, who was involved in a verbal altercation with a man earlier in the night after refusing to go home with him. Ms. Pope told the deputy she saw the man circling Mac’s in a Chevrolet Tahoe and fled in an unknown direction as she was leaving. Read More »
