Cats lose 35-14 to Bishop Kenny

The BCHS Wildcats lost their final game of the season on October 31 to the visiting Bishop Kenny Crusaders 35-14.

Bishop Kenny’s Charles Wade scored three touchdowns and Anthony Farmand added two receiving scores from quarterback Jackson Bradley to catapult the Crusaders to the win.

Wade’s two short touchdown runs in the first quarter gave Bishop Kenny a 14-0 lead. Farmand caught his two scoring passes of 21- and 31-yards in the second quarter to give Bishop Kenny a 28-0 halftime lead.

Wade found the end zone again on the first play of the third quarter as he returned an interception off a tipped pass for a touchdown.

Baker County’s offense was finally able to move the ball in the fourth quarter. Zach Rafuse took a reverse 79 yards to the house for the team’s first touchdown of the night.

On the Cats’ final play of the season, Jacob Carter connected with Ridge Horn for an 18-yard touchdown pass.

With the loss, the Cats ended their first season under head coach Tom MacPherson at 4-6 overall and 3-4 in District 3-5A.

Kids summer series ends with outdoor games

Allowed toddler to wander free in yard



Three young sons belonging to a Macclenny woman were turned over to relatives following her arrest the morning of July 24 for allowing the youngest one, age 2, to wander unattended around the yard of her residence in the Woodlawn trailer park for an hour.

Fight ends with a helicopter medivac



A Macclenny man was airlifted to the hospital with major head injuries late in the afternoon of July 24 following an altercation with another man on North CR 23A.
