The BCHS Lady Wildcats captured a pair of wins this week on the hard court, defeating West Nassau 71-61 on December 6, and the next night by defeating district foe Terry Parker.
The game was closer than the score indicates as BCHS ran out to a 6-point edge in the first period and then held the Lady Warriors at arm’s length. Both teams had dominant scorers with West Nassau’s Humphries and BCHS freshman Delicia Washington each racking up 27 points.
But as the top scorers cancelled each other out, it was the strong offensive play of Shanice Paige and the inside game of Candace Clack that made the difference. Paige was particularly strong in the second period, throwing in 12 of her 25 points. Clack had a strong first half as well scoring 9 of her 11 points in the first two periods.
