Wayne Burnsed of Moniac dies

Willard “Wayne” Burnsed, 67, a lifelong resident of Moniac, Georgia, died September 11, 2012 at his residence with family by his side. He was born in Moniac on December 30, 1944 to the late Enoch Burnsed and Ruby Raulerson Burnsed. Wayne was a graduate of Charlton County High School, and served in the United States Army. He retired from Rayonier in Fernandina Beach after 37 years of dedicated work. Wayne was a Baptist and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his sister Ester Mae Yonn; his brother Earl Johns; and son-in-law, Roger Altman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Florence Rewis Burnsed of Moniac; daughter Donna Altman (Ray Bishop); sons Robert (Bonnie) McKenzie and Willard Enoch Burnsed; sister Ruth (Bill) Bates; brother Wade (Delores) Burnsed; grandchildren, David, Andrew, Kyle, Victoria, Tara, and Collin; special aunt Ethel Raulerson.

Bessie Crump of Sanderson dies

Bessie Louise Crump, 94, of Sanderson died on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness. She was a native of St. Louis, MO and resided in Sanderson the past 35 years. Mrs. Crump was a proof operator at the Wellston Bank in Wellston, MO for over 25 years until retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary, the Woman’s Club of Macclenny and the Baldwin Order of the Eastern Star; and a former member of the Charmers dance troupe of Baker County.

Mrs. Crump was predeceased by parents Franklin and Bessie McMichael Slocum, husband William Newton Crump and son-in-law Windell Dugger. She is survived by daughter Bessie L. Dugger of Sanderson; two brothers William F. Crump of Sanderson and Richard E. Crump of Florissant, MO; 11 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Paul Perkins, 67, of Baldwin

Paul Perkins, 67, of Baldwin died on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab after an extended illness. He was born in Sanderson to the late Willie and Louise Coleman Perkins, and is survived by sisters and brothers Elton and Margie Perkins and Joseph and Luvice Owens; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

The funeral service for Mr. Perkins will be at 1 pm on Saturday, September 22 at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Sanderson with Elder Richard Farmer officiating. Minister Vick Givens will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Quitman Cemetery in Sanderson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21 at the church from 6-8 pm. Cooper Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Sidbeck, 85, nurse at NEFSH

Betty Kinney Sidbeck, 85, of Lake City died on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Countryside Manor assisted living facility. She was born in Lime Ridge, Wisconsin in 1927 to the late Rudy Kinney and Hazel Jackson Kinney. Ms. Sidbeck lived in Lake City since 1989 having moved there from Phoenix, Arizona and Cocoa Beach, Florida. Ms Sidbeck was a registered nurse and retired in 1999 from the Northeast Florida State Hospital in Macclenny. She was a Protestant.

Survivors include her son Gary Lee Holeman of Lake City;  brother William Kinney of Aurora, IL; granddaughter Michelle Deignan of Phoenix; great-grandchildren Josephine and Paige Deignan of Phoenix.

No memorial service is scheduled at this time. Guerry Funeral Home of Lake City was in charge of arrangements.
