Lois Bennett of Glen St. Mary dies at 83

BennettLois L. Bennett, 83, of Glen St. Mary died on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at St. Vincents Medical Center in Jacksonville following a long illness. She was born in Moniac, Georgia and resided in Glen St. Mary for 47 years.

She was a nursing aide at Northeast Florida State Hospital in Macclenny for over 27 years. She was a member of the Moniac Baptist Church and enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball and television game shows.

Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by parents Corley and Ada Raulerson and her husband Elmer Lee Bennett. She is survived by daughter Lora A. (K.C.) Waller of Maxville, Fla. and son Mikell B. (Dale) Bennett of Taylor; sister-in-law Ethel Raulerson of Moniac; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 22 in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny with Rev. Fred Raulerson, pastor of Pine Level Church, officiating. Interment was in North Prong Cemetery.
