WORK DESCRIPTION

This Project is located in Baker County, Florida, in the City of Macclenny.

Separate sealed BIDS for the construction of a new Fire Station No. 1. The one story 11,868 square foot building will house a vehicle bay, living quarters for personnel and an administrative office area for the Fire Department. The living area and office areas of the building will be concrete block structure with wood trusses. The vehicle bay will be a pre-engineered metal building.

PRE-BID MEETING

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the project location at 139 East Macclenny Avenue (US Highway 90), Macclenny, FL 32063, on Friday August 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. (local time). This will be the only opportunity to gain physical access to the site.

RECEIPT OF BIDS

Bidding and Contract Documents may be obtained at ENGINEER’S office or by mail by contacting Sherra Davis at (352) 376-6533.  Payment for each set of Contract Documents is required from prospective Bidder’s in amount of $350 per set, which constitutes the cost for reproduction and handling.  Checks shall be made payable to the ENGINEER.  Payment is non-refundable.  Documents will be shipped upon receipt of payment, but not sooner.

Bids shall be completed on the enclosed Bid Form as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders and otherwise be in compliance with the Bidding Documents.  Sealed bids will be received at City Hall, 118 E. Macclenny Avenue, Macclenny, Florida, 32063, until 2:00 p.m. (local time) on September 5, 2014, and then all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the City Council Meeting on September 9, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. (local time). Any Bids received after the specified time and date may not be considered. Only prospective bidders on the Engineer’s Plan Holder’s list and who have attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting may submit a bid.
