The Macclenny Fire Department will be unveiling a steel beam from the wreckage of the World Trade Center towers Saturday during its Public Appreciation Day at Firehouse Subs in the Winn-Dixie shopping center.
The beam, which arrived about two months ago, is mounted on twin stands representing the Twin Towers. It will have a photo from 9-11 displayed as the monument’s backdrop. The photograph shows a group of firefighters raising the American flag.
The unveiling ceremony, beginning at 10 a.m., will kickoff the day’s activities, including firefighter exhibitions and tours of fire department trucks and equipment. It’s schedule to go through 4 p.m.
