ATV raffled off by new power sports retailer

ATV giveaway2Mary Carol Covington of Sanderson won a new ATV from Pembelton Power Sports in Macclenny last month.

The Press’ managing editor Joel Addington drew the winning raffle ticket the afternoon of December 20 and Ms. Covington picked up her prize at Pembelton’s location downtown a short time later.

About 100 raffle tickets were sold at $3 apiece, many at the Christmas festival and parade on December 7, said the business’ owner Dave Pembelton, pictured at center with his son Braxton.

Ms. Covington, pictured above at right, said she was shocked when she found out she won the drawing, namely because she wasn’t the person who entered her name in the raffle. She said the prize will go to her children, as she already owns a larger ATV.

The four-wheeler from Pembleton, which opened about three months ago, was a 110-cc Peace Sports youth ATV. Also pictured with the winner is Mr. Pembelton’s wife Brittany.
