Obscenity keyed into vehicle at fairgrounds

A Macclenny woman reported to police that her vehicle was damaged while parked in a lot near the Baker County Fair the evening of October 4.

Shannon Johnson said she noticed on October 6 that an obscenity was scratched into the paint surface on the passenger door of her 2003 Lexus. The victim also mentioned to Deputy Michael Clark that other parked vehicles were damaged that night, but the sheriff’s department confirmed early this week no additional reports were logged.

Board ups dividends: Baker County will get $330,000

Business has been so good at the New River regional landfill that the three counties that own it — Baker, Bradford and Union — will get an even bigger dividend check in 2013-14 than in previous years.
