The BCHS Wildcats won their home finale in dominating fashion with a 62-27 victory over Stanton October 25 to improve their record to 5-1 in District 3-5A play and 7-2 overall.
Mike Boone’s five touchdowns on the night propelled the Wildcats to the blowout win. Four of his scores came in the first half on two sweep plays of 15 and 14-yards and two punt returns of 45 and 82-yards. He added 78-yard touchdown reception on a slant from freshman quarterback Joe Green in the third quarter.
CeCe Jefferson led an impressive game from the Wildcats’ defense. The junior defense end had three of the team’s five sacks on the night and returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter.
The Wildcats must now prepare for their regular season finale when they travel to play the undefeated Bishop Kenny Crusaders November 1. The game could determine the District 3-5A champions and has major playoff implications.
