D.W. Robinson of Baldwin dies

D.W. Robinson, 87, of Baldwin died on March 20, 2013. He was born on November 7, 1925 to the late Ervin and Maggie (Heaton) Robinson and was a foreman at Farnell’s Dairy, owned Robinson’s service station, was the Baldwin fire chief from 1976-1980 and a captain and assistant chief of police from 1972-1981. Most recently, Mr. Robinson retired from Walmart after 25 years. He attended Temple Baptist Church.

Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by daughter Brenda Dale Robinson and his wife of 63 years, Sarah Lee Oliver Robinson. He is survived by daughters Mildred (Dub) Cobb, Judy (Jim) Harper, Wanda Robinson and Roxanne (Chuck) Spitzer; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; sister Betty Payne.

The funeral service was held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 26 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home in Baldwin with Bro. Bob Galentine and Bro. Gene Burnsed officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
